Two dozen Nigerian Young Scholars Released Over a Week After Abduction

Approximately twenty-four West African girls who were abducted from their educational institution more than seven days back have been released, the country's president stated.

Gunmen stormed an educational institution located in Kebbi State on 17 November, taking the life of an employee and abducting 25 students.

Head of state government leadership praised security forces for their "quick action" post-occurrence - despite the fact that specific details of the girls' release were not specified.

Africa's most populous nation has experienced multiple incidents of kidnappings over the past few years - with more than 250 children abducted from faith-based academy days ago still missing.

Via official communication, a special adviser of the administration confirmed that each young woman captured at learning institution in Kebbi State had been accounted for, stating that the incident caused copycat kidnappings across further local territories.

National leadership said that additional forces are being positioned in sensitive locations to stop additional occurrences involving abductions".
