Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after March of that year.

Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
