Cameron Norrie earned the most notable victory of his professional journey by coming back from a set down to overcome top-ranked player Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the early stage of the Paris Masters.

Even though he had previously overcome Alcaraz on two prior meetings, this win represents Norrie's first ever victory over a reigning world No 1.

The British player, seeded No 31, also stopped Alcaraz's impressive sequence of nine straight final appearances and 17 successive elite tournament wins, which represented the best series of results in the Spaniard's early career.
